Anyone with children who are dearly attatched to their lovie may not want to read any further. lol

This is Fifi:
My Dear Fifi

She is as old as I am, 26 plus years to be exact.  My mother got this dog as a gift for me while she was still pregnant, baby shower gift I assume. It has been mine since the day I was born.  All my childhood she went with me everywhere.  There were rules of course, I couldn’t take her outside to play, or to school. I couldn’t take her to the store or anything else like that.  I was allowed to take it on sleep overs though, even when I became a teenager she went, generally tucked down in the bottom of my bag.

I remember one time as if it were yesterday.  I do not however remember my exact age.  I was in Girl Scouts and was allowed to go on a camping trip. We went to Camp Crawford and Fifi came along in my bag as usual. I had a lovely time camping and did well.

I got home two days later and as I was going to bed realized that Fifi was missing.  My mom helped me search my bag, we searched the car, we called the head of my Girl Scout troop.  We searched the house.  My dad decided that he would drive up to the camp and see if the owner would let him go look in the building we had stayed in. While he was gone I found her stuffed down in the bottom of my sleeping bag… way at the bottom. My mom put me to bed and when my dad got home she told him that we had found it.  I was already asleep with Fifi in my arms.

The next morning I was given a new rule.  Fifi was NOT to go with me on anymore camping trips period.  After that day my mom threatened to throw her out if she found her laying around anywhere other than my bed, and still to this day swears if she sees it she’ll throw it away.

So here I am 26 still attatched to my lovie.  She sits on my headboard and Mike has said that he’s seen me at night with her ear between my fingers.  She does not leave the house anymore.  Honestly I’m afraid if I took it to Michigan with me she’d disappear. LOL Silly huh?  I love that pup!!

Do you have a lovie?  Had one?

His job picked up a new contract and oddly enough its a position he’s worked before for another company. Its good for the company in several ways, more money for them, another client for the client base. Also it helps that Mike has done this position before because he is training the new employees that they hired.  The problem is this is a night position.  And it sucks for him that the people he is training make more than he does!

Poor guy has been pushed to the limit.  He had 70+ hours last week and this week already he has 54 hours and he still has to work tonight. Yeah the overtime is nice but he’s starting to look really haggard. He is suppose to get Friday off.  Which he’ll probably spend sleeping since he’ll likely get off at 9am that morning.
